The Maldives is not a one island paradise, there are actually 1,200 islands separated into a series of coral atolls, however only 200 of the 1,200 islands are inhabited.

So apart from the reasons already mentioned; why do people just love the Maldives?

  • Let’s start with the Beaches and Weather in the Maldives – the sand is silky smooth and feels fantastic as its sleeps between your toes, whilst in view of the crystalline blue waters. The islands of the Maldives offer an unparalleled sanctuary of peace and seclusion from the rest of the world, with some properties having their own private beach! These beautiful islands in the Maldives are incredibly remote; you can lay back and experience incredible tropical temperatures that range between 24 to 35 degrees all year round, a perfect heat that won’t make you uncomfortable. Nowhere else on earth can you see waters as clear and as blue as in the Maldives.
  • Swimming in the sea, you haven’t experienced anything like this! – The captivating crystal blue waters are home to some of the most vibrant sea life in the world. If you’re visiting before buying your paradise property, you may want to check out a few of the amazing Resorts. Almost every resort island enjoys a personal reef which is there for you to enjoy some snorkeling, although if you fancy a boat trip there are plenty of resort to explore just a short ride away – plus there are other more remote locations to snorkel and dive which are easily accessible by boat. The sites like banana reef and fish head are world class diving destinations, it’s possible to see over 1,000 different varieties of marine life – truly amazing!
  • Secluded Luxury and a Culinary Delight – The Maldives offers a tempting variety of international cuisines, from casual dining to an exclusive gourmet experience. When embracing the life within any of the resorts, global flair ranging from the delicious savoury flavours of Italian food to exceptionally fresh seafood, with several local venues offering more authentic style Maldivian food and experiences. The traditional dishes are largely based around fish that are usually quite spicy and commonly feature coconut, sampling these foods is an essential part of the vibrant and unique island experience. The Maldivian economy is largely based on tourism, with 200 islands already inhabited almost 90 of those are dedicated to world class luxury resorts. The Maldives try to limit the resort density to one per island, with each one offering their own unique spin for the visit, they also offer the ultimate secluded and peaceful experience. The resorts offer luxurious spa treatments perfect for those in need of pampering, generally strict Muslim laws do not allow alcohol or topless sunbathing, however they are not enforced on the resorts. The resorts offer all-inclusive accommodation which are hidden away in one of the most exotic, stunning and breathtaking locations in the world.
  • The Sunsets and Villas – You may still be staring at the picture above, yes it’s real. The villas are all on one level and you can opt for a villa on the water – giving you fantastic views all-round you and easy access to the clear blue waters, but watching the sunset or perhaps the sun rise can be absolutely breathtaking, you also have access to your own infinity pool. This isn’t all, during the evening you will witness a neon phenomenon, electric blue water – almost looks like the sea is glowing. This bioluminescent phenomenon is the result of plankton being disturbed causing them to emit light through a complex chemical reaction – which is just breathtaking to see.

These are just a few reasons why people love the Maldives – and can you blame them? – it’s an absolute paradise.
